MycoType Indoor Air Mold Test A non-invasive method of identifying the molds and bacteria in the air of your home.

When should you start this test?

Start when you will be able to retrieve the samplers in 10 days.
If there are storms or high winds forecast for the following week, we suggest postponing the test.

What's in this kit?

Step 1 Register your kit online

  • Register your MycoKit online at mycotype.com/register
  • The serial # is located on this sheet and on the samplers.
  • You must register your MycoKit before we can process it.

Step 2 Set Up the Outdoor Sampler

  1. Unfold the outdoor weathershield.
  2. Locate a window wider than the weathershield.
  3. Clean the window so the suction cups will stick.
  4. Press the weathershield to the outside of the window.
  5. Open the sampler and and secure the lid.

Step 3 Set Up the Indoor Samplers

  1. Locate a suitable surface for the sampler
    • In a location that will not be disturbed
    • Out of reach of children and pets
    • If no suitable surface exists, use an indoor platform.
  2. Place the sampler on the surface and open the sampler.

Optional Using the Indoor Sampler Platforms

  1. Use the provided tape to secure the sampler to the platform.
    The sampler hinge must be in the middle of the platform
  2. Clean the window or mirror surface.
  3. Attach the platform using the suction cup.
  4. Open the sampler.

Step 4 Wait 10 Days!

Let the samplers collect fungal spores and bacteria for 10 days in a row.

Step 5 Collect and return the samplers

  1. Carefully close the indoor samplers and secure them with rubberbands.
  2. Remove the sampler from the outdoor weathershield.
  3. Place the 5 samplers into the return mailer. Fill any remaining space with a packing material.
  4. Mail the samplers to our lab! The box is pre-addressed and pre-paid.

We will email you the report once we receive and analyse the samplers.
